Milk and honey sounds lush but not very nutritious -- especially since there wasn&#039;t too much else. Plus the bread the Tanach speaks of is probably like modern pita bread which isn&#039;t nutritious at all and if that&#039;s your staple you&#039;d be deficient.

And even a casual perusal of the Bible will show that famines were a regular occurrence.</description>
